Advance Auto Parts, Inc., a leading automotive aftermarket parts provider in North America, serves both the professional installer and do-it-yourself customers. Advance operates approximately 5,100 stores, 126 Worldpac branches and serves approximately 1,300 independently owned CARQUEST branded stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada.
Advance Auto Parts is currently looking for a Sr. Software Developer to join their International Supply Chain Systems Development Team based in Raleigh, NC. The Supply Chain Development Team is responsible for the analysis, development, testing, and supporting supply chain applications. Our supply chain operates at significant scale supporting over 6,000 inventory locations across North America and a rapidly growing eCommerce direct-to-customer delivery model. Transformation is the focus as we are consolidating systems and embracing software-as-a-service (SaaS).
This is a hybrid position and team members will be required to report into Raleigh, NC HQ.

As a Sr. Software Developer, you will:

  • Independently assist in research and fact finding to develop or modify information systems
  • Write detailed and maintainable program specifications for large programs, objects or systems to be used by others
  • Write new highly complex programs, objects or systems from detailed specifications
  • Facilitate technical and user walkthroughs of information systems
  • Provide time estimates for projects to be performed by self or others
  • Participate in on-call support rotation for moderate to critical system issues
  • Lead medium or large projects including cross-functional interaction
  • Interface frequently with business partners concerning their needs
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of Advance Auto Parts technologies
  • Participate in all SDLC roles
  • Work closely with Advance Auto Parts Architects to solution new systems and interfaces
  • Utilize and enhance established design patterns in system design and development
  • Lead code / design reviews for appropriate level of complexity with junior developers
  • Create and maintain technical documentation

REQUIRED TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in application development or support of a Warehouse Management System (HighJump (Koerber) Software, RedPrairie, Manhattan Associates, SAP-WM, etc.)
  • High Proficiency in SQL (PL/SQL or Microsoft SQL) programming

PREFERRED TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with HighJump’s (Koerber’s) WebWise Page Editor and Advantage Architect toolset
  • Experience with designing and developing REST\RESTful APIs
  • Bartender Labeling
  • SSRS Reporting
  • Voice (Vocolletx, TopVox, Voxware)
  • Understanding of Supply Chain and Warehousing concepts

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
