TRANSCORE (TRN), A SUBSIDIARY OF ST ENGINEERING, IS SEEKING A FULL-TIME SR. SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER TO JOIN OUR TEAM IN ROUND ROCK, TX.

Job Summary: The Senior Software Test Engineer will work directly with the Core Software development team focusing on projects with an exciting level of risk, complexity, and visibility. As a Senior Software Test Engineer you will be responsible for leveraging your extensive experience in Hardware Integration Testing on LINUX systems to ensure the seamless functionality of our hardware devices. We are building a team of energetic, self-motivated, and passionate engineers who strive to be the absolute best and enjoy working with other team members towards a common goal. The person in this position will also have assignments to develop, test and deploy software components built to specifications to comply with the project requirements, participate in development efforts to support current processes, and help troubleshoot issues with existing code in Linux and Windows environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. In addition, other duties may be assigned.

  • Conduct rigorous testing on LINUX systems to ensure the flawless operation of our products.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute test plans and test cases based on project requirements.
  • Analyze logs and reports on LINUX systems to identify and troubleshoot hardware-related problems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and reliability of our hardware and software products.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for product enhancement and refinement.
  • Support Production, Development, and QA Environments.
  • Analyze Transaction Data Reports and reconcile data differences
  • Detect, track, and triage software defects.
  • Participates in supporting the application in production once it has been deployed
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings and update the daily task progress of the team

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of experience in Hardware Integration Testing.
  • Proven experience in testing hardware devices on LINUX systems.
  • Basic understanding of object-oriented programming languages.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze logs and reports on LINUX systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.
