Description:
Job Title: Sr. Specialist, Cancer Prevention, Connect to Change
Location: Anywhere in British Columbia, Manitoba, or Saskatchewan
Work Model: Hybrid Work Model
Salary Band: 5 ($56,000 - $84,000 CAD)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in the field of health promotion, health sciences, community development or social work.
- Knowledge and understanding of First Nation, Inuit, Métis history, culture and health/socio-economic issues and needs.
- Experience in effectively working with First Nations, Inuit, Métis and/or urban Indigenous partners and stakeholders and/or knowledge of First Nations, Inuit, Métis and urban Indigenous governments and organizations.
- Demonstrated project coordination experience.
- Experience working in and/or familiarity with cancer and chronic disease prevention or related health areas.
- More than 1 year, up to and including 3 years - some practical or job-related experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion approaches and strategies related to tobacco control and/or physical activity is an asset.
- Strong internal and external relationship skills, ability to professionally interact with and establish solid working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to share relevant information and prepare correspondence and reports.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word/Excel, Teams/PowerPoint/Outlook)
- A criminal record check is required.
