Description:

Overview: The SSA manager will plan, develop, monitor, review and modify efficient supply activity services to include the receipt, storage, issue, maintenance, inventory, material management and distribution of supplies within storage operations. The SSA manager will monitor and develop resolutions to storage activity support functions/issues/problems, including: resource and manpower management, Safety, security, supply acquisition and automated systems.
The Supply Support Activity Manager has full technical and administrative responsibilities for supervision and management of the following functions: SSA management, Material Management Section, Hazardous Material Control Center, Inspection and Classification Section, Stock Readiness, Storage Activities, Department of Logistics Agency (DLA) operations.

Qualification & Experience Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ of recent specialized experience is required
  • Formal training: Current certifications on GCSS-A
  • Ability to provide information and reports, resolve issues and recommend actions to improve delivery of services to the customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills are required.
  • Excellent computer, oral and written communication skills required. Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain all Logistics Information System (LIS) access requirements (Common Access Card).
  • Specialized knowledge and skills
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to independently operate with minimal supervision.
  • Must display a strong knowledge of logistics processes, through coaching, instructing and leading others in SSA operations.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership and management skills, including a professional demeanor.
  • Driver’s license is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a US Passpor

Responsibilities:

  • Directs Supply operations i.e. the requisitioning, receipt, issue, storage and associated inventory control of all material and supplies necessary to support contractual requirements.
  • Directs the operation of the reparable exchange, inventory, storage and distribution activities.
  • Directs and controls supply provisioning of the Prescribed Load Lists (PLL) and Authorized Stockage List (ASL), and DLA operational control.
  • Directs and controls activities which monitor and track requisitioning, receipt of materials and supplies, inventory, consumption, reorder points, stockage levels and property accounts.
  • Conducts inspection and reviews of all work and takes appropriate corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Ensure all weapons, sensitive and pilfer-able items are secured and protected at all times and entered into Unique Item Tracking (UIT) when required.
  • Manage the ASO Supply staff, including subcontractor employees and performance
  • Organize, directs and coordinates the planning and production of included activities
  • Provide direction and guidance to office, branch, and section supervisors.
  • All other duties assigned.
