Description:

If you’re an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, Robert Half has a terrific opportunity for you to check out. As a Staff Accountant, you’ll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you’ll have responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. An involved position, you will be producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Goleta, California area, this company is offering a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity that’s sure to challenge as well as reward effort.

Your responsibilities

  • Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
  • Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
  • Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
  • Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
  • Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
  • Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
  • Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
  • Proven knowledge of bank reconciliations
  • Command of Accounts Payable (AP)
  • General ledger experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Experience with journal entries
  • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
  • Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities
  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
  • Proficient in ERP systems
  • 1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
