Description:
We are offering a unique opportunity for a Staff Accountant in EDINBURGH, Indiana. This role is part of a dynamic team that operates in an onsite, five-day work week environment. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in our finance team, assisting with the transition to a new system from QuickBooks. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the transition from QuickBooks to a new system
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) activities
- Perform high volume bank reconciliations and maintain general ledger
- Prepare and post journal entries as required
- Participate in month-end close processes
- Collaborate with the team to resolve any accounting issues and improve processes
- Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments.
- Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently
- Maintain accurate customer credit records
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
- Experience with Bank Reconciliations
- Familiarity with General Ledger management and Journal Entries
- Ability to perform Month End Close tasks
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations related to accounting
- Professional certification such as a CPA is preferred but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
