This Hanford, California area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. This position is for candidates with the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Candidates who can participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes will be preferred for this role. You will be preferred for this role if you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

What you get to do every day

  • Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
  • Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
  • Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
  • Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
  • Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
  • Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
  • Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
  • Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
  • Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Less than one year of experience
  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience
  • Month end closings experience highly desired
  • Foundational knowledge in general ledger
  • Strong familiarity with journal entries
  • Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Efficient in ERP systems
  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
