Staff Accountant

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity in Irmo, South Carolina, for a Staff Accountant. The role primarily involves managing financial processes such as month-end close, accounts payable and receivable, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, cash application, and check runs. The successful candidate will be integral in ensuring financial operations are conducted efficiently and accurately within our organization.

• Assist with month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are processed in a timely manner
• Prepare financial statements and reports for internal use
• Perform account reconciliations to identify and resolve any discrepancies
• Oversee cash application processes and ensure they align with financial policies
• Conduct check runs to facilitate prompt payments
• Utilize QuickBooks desktop for various accounting tasks
• Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Work closely with other team members to ensure cohesive financial management across the organization.
• Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a related role.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.
• Experience with bank reconciliations is necessary.
• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance is a prerequisite.
• Ability to manage Journal Entries effectively is essential.
• Experience with Month End Close procedures is a must.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks is required.
