Description:

If you’re looking to build your career in accounting, there’s currently a Staff Accountant position through Robert Half that you may want to check out. Set in the Summerville, South Carolina area, the company offering this short-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity encourages innovation and rewards effort in the work place. As Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. Be prepared to dedicate a fair amount of time to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You’ll also have responsibility over various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will be in charge of communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, playing an active role in compliance, and looking over schedules for the reporting processes.

  • Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
  • Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
  • Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
  • Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
  • Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
  • Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
  • Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
  • Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
  • Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Detailed and have the ability work independently
  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Recent and relevant accounting experience
  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
  • Well-founded grasp of financial statement preparation
  • Strong familiarity with General Accounting
  • General familiarity with bank reconciliations
  • Foundational knowledge in general ledger
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Proven knowledge of Prepare Financial Statements
  • Practical knowledge of payroll
  • Experience with Analyze Financial Statements
  • Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
