Description:

Robert Half is searching for a Staff Accountant for an opportunity with a company in the Real Estate & Property industry. The responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A very involved position, the Staff Accountant spends a good deal of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Dallas, Texas area, the company offering this challenging long-term contract / temporary opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
  • Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
  • Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
  • Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
  • Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
  • Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives
  • Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases
  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
  • ERP system experience
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
  • Adeptness in Journal Entry
  • Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience preferred
  • Account reconciliation experience
  • Journal entries experience highly desired
  • Bank reconciliations experience
  • Cam Reconciliation experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of month end closings
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Recent and relevant accounting experience
