Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant for our client’s team based in Lexington, Kentucky. This position involves managing precise financial records for their organization, monitoring assets, liabilities, and other financial activities. The chosen candidate will aid in the monthly closing process and prepare various financial reports and analyses as necessary.

Support the monthly closing process for the organization, including the creation and posting of standard and non-standard journal entries.
Manage Accounts Payable and assist with Accounts Receivable.
Conduct monthly account reconciliations.
Handle monthly closing for three non-profit foundations.
Assist with the Annual Audit.
Stay informed about acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Help with Fixed Asset maintenance and reporting.
Prepare all sales and use tax returns.
Employ skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month-End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP to perform duties effectively.

Perform other related tasks as assigned.

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role
• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Knowledge of General Ledger maintenance
• Familiarity with Journal Entries
• Demonstrated experience with Month End Close processes
• Proficiency in NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
