Description:

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with terrific organizational skills to take up a short-term contract / temporary position at a growing company in the Hi Tech Engineering industry. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. How you will make an impact

  • Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
  • Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
  • Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
  • Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
  • Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
  • Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
  • Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
  • Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities
  • Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • ERP system experience
  • Recent and relevant accounting experience
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
  • Bank Account Reconciliation experience
  • Proficiency in Journal Entry Preparation
  • General ledger experience required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of General Accounting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Excel Formulas
  • Adeptness in Microsoft Excel
  • Account reconciliation experience
  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases
  • Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
