Description:

Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract / temporary position. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Key responsibilities

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
  • Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
  • Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
  • Maintain monthly payment schedules
  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives
  • Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
  • Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
  • Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
  • Vow to meet business deadlines
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
  • Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
  • Recent and relevant accounting experience
  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience
  • Microsoft Excel experience
  • Bookkeeping experience
  • Excel Formulas experience required
