Description:

Robert Half is searching for an Accounting Clerk for a property authority in Newton, MA.
As an Accounting Clerk you will predominately be focused on accounts payable and accounts receivable.. This position will also require you to participate in compliance, as well as communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This multi-faceted, challenging long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity is at a Newton Highlands, Massachusetts based company where effort is rewarded and the environment is thriving.

Your responsibilities

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives
  • Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
  • Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
  • Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
  • Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
  • Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
  • Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
  • Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred
  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Current and relevant ERP system experience
  • Recent and relevant accounting experience
  • Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards
  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
