Description:
Our client is seeking a dedicated, professional Staff Accountant to join their team.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
They are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to aid in preparing statements that follow all regulatory and accounting guidelines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing financial information, preparing balance sheets, managing tax payments and performing internal audits. You should possess excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask efficiently.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or related field.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with relevant accounting software.
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent mathematical skills, and strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification would be an advantage.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
- Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
- Recent and relevant accounting experience
- Journal entries experience preferred
- Solid understanding of month end closings

Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements and regulatory reporting documents.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts.
- Coordinate with the finance team to complete annual audits.
- Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis.
- Comprise sales & use tax reports
- Oversee taxes and abide by federal regulations.
