Staff Accountant

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Lakeside, California. In this role, you’ll join our accounting team and be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including accounts payable, reconciliation, managing deposits, and preparing financial reports. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of Quickbooks, Microsoft Office, and various accounting principles.

• Manage accounts payable, including check and wire transfers twice a month.
• Reconcile checking accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Manage deposits and enter data into QuickBooks for record-keeping.
• Handle investment changes on a daily basis.
• Prepare board reports, including investment, financial, and check distribution reports.
• Track and report on electrical usage and costs.
• Monitor water use and provide historical reports.
• Assist in the preparation of financial audit worksheets.
• Handle accounts receivable tasks, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close procedures.
• Use accounting software such as NetSuite and Oracle to streamline processes and improve productivity.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management.
• Experience in Bank Reconciliations is mandatory.
• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and management.
• Ability to carry out Journal Entries accurately and efficiently.
• Experience with Month End Close procedures.
• Proficiency in using NetSuite for accounting tasks.
• Experience with Oracle in a financial context.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks for accounting and financial management.
