We seek a Staff Global Trade Compliance Analyst to join the Global Trade Compliance (GTC) team. This role will support our growth and contribute to our ongoing efforts to transform human health.
You are a seasoned professional in global trade compliance, adept at navigating complex global regulations and optimizing processes. Your ability to effectively collaborate across functions, contribute to strategic initiatives, and support project teams stands out. With exceptional critical thinking skills and strong commitment to ethical standards, you bring clarity and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiencies though compliance. Your initiative-taking nature and excellent communication skills enable you to engage stakeholders effectively, advocating for compliance best practices and contributing to Illumina’s commitment to ethical practices and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Execution & Business Enablement: Under the guidance of the Global Trade Compliance Systems, Processes & Analytics Sr. Manager, align and enhance trade compliance systems, processes, and analytics to drive global business growth and scalability.
  • Internal & Compliance Controls: Uphold global compliance standards through robust internal controls and process support and manage system enhancements for operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Project Support: Foster cross-functional partnerships to advance compliance projects, contributing to improvements that bolster operational effectiveness and leading efforts from concept to completion.
  • Training & Standardization: Develop and disseminate global compliance, process training, and establish standardized practices to ensure consistency and adherence throughout the organization.
  • Technology Implementation & Data Analytics: Support the automation of compliance solutions, including managing enhancements and utilizing analytics tools like Tableau and Powerbait for strategic insights and issue resolution.
  • Change Management & Ad Hoc Support: Facilitate effective change management and communication of GTC improvements, and address ad hoc requests, displaying flexibility and compliance adherence.
  • Professional Development & Knowledge Maintenance: Keep abreast of global trade regulations and Scrum methodologies, ensuring continuous professional growth and data integrity.
  • Odd hours working are to be expected time to time to support EMEA and US stakeholders (i.e early morning or night calls).

Preferred Educational and Experience Background:

  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in international business or related field or a master’s degree with a concentration in International Management, with extensive business execution experience in global trade compliance.
  • Proven ability to contribute to and support complex projects, demonstrating initiative and thoroughness in task management within a regulated environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with and effectively conveying compliance needs across functions.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficient in tools such as SAP ECC, SAP GTS, and analytics platforms like Tableau and PowerBI.
  • A solid ethical foundation committed to upholding the highest legal and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Agility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities, maintaining high organizational and detail-oriented focus.
  • Agile Scrum Master or Product Owner certification desirable, with a willingness to undergo further training.
