SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Director for the Office of Grants and Sponsored Research
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May supervise student employees, as assigned
General Statement of Duties: The Staff Associate, Post Award Grants Officer is responsible for facilitating the grant post-award process, and supporting post-award compliance. The incumbent will collaborate with stakeholders in initiating grant-funded project activities in order to fulfill award requirements and timelines. They will disseminate information related to award and contract fulfillment activities, and support reporting as required. They will ensure diligent tracking and reporting of solicitation and award metrics. Under the direction of the Director, this individual is responsible for supporting compliance with sponsored agency programmatic policies, guidelines, rules, and regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field.
  • Three years minimum experience working specifically with grants from federal, state and private funding sources, including experience with interpreting reporting requirements and funding guidelines, and monitoring budgets.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and apply government regulations and proposal guidelines, explain policies and procedures, rules, and regulations in a collegial manner, facilitate meetings and coordinate the work of teams. Candidate must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the following: Effective project management techniques, education institutional policies and procedures, and post-award compliance best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability with computer applications in support of essential job functions including Adobe, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and other software useful for managing grant processes.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects effectively to meet office and proposal deadlines, and communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Ability to successfully pass a thorough background check and CORI check.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters or other advanced degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field.
  • Five years of experience specifically with grants from federal, state and private funding sources, including experience with interpreting reporting requirements and funding guidelines, and monitoring budgets with multiple concurrent timelines.
  • Experience with online Federal, State and private grant filing systems including but not limited to grants.gov; Ed Grants; GEMS; research.gov; Foundant and Friendly.
    Additional Information:
    This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, professional APA position. The firm annual salary range for this position is $65,000- $70,000, commensurate with relevant professional experience and education.
