Job description:
The Staff Automation Engineer enhances operational efficiency and fosters innovation within the organization by leading the strategic development, deployment, and management of automation solutions. This position involves the full lifecycle management of automation projects, from initial concept through to deployment and continuous improvement, while providing vital technical leadership to the development team. This role requires leveraging expertise in RPA and various automation tools to create complex, scalable, and secure automation workflows that meet business needs and efficiency objectives. The Staff Automation Engineer is responsible for engineering reusable process patterns, adhering to best practices throughout design, development, testing, and maintenance stages, and working closely with end users and team members. This position drives the vision for automation and ensures the timely delivery of multiple projects, mentoring team members, and facilitating the smooth execution of automation initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Solution Delivery: Lead and ensure the timely, within scope, and on-budget delivery of development projects. Oversee all implementation and process development activities conducted by dev pods, effectively anticipating, identifying, tracking, and resolving technical issues and risks that could affect project delivery.
  • RPA Solution Architecture: In collaboration with RPA architects, design and develop scalable, secure, and compliant RPA solutions that integrate smoothly with existing IT infrastructure, prioritizing stability, and scalability.
  • Development and Implementation: Utilize automation tools such as UiPath to develop, test, and implement solutions, adhering to the best practices in the software development lifecycle, including version control, code review, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing: Execute comprehensive testing strategies, encompassing unit, system, and user acceptance tests, to ensure RPA bots function as expected and meet user requirements. Quickly address and resolve any defects or issues that arise.
  • Integration and System Connectivity: Manage the seamless integration of RPA solutions with both internal and external systems, making use of APIs, web services, and data exchange protocols to ensure interoperability and consistency of data.
  • Documentation and Change Management: Produce in-depth documentation for RPA processes, including technical specs, process flow diagrams, and user manuals. Handle changes to RPA deployments with minimal operational disruption. Contribute to the development of best practice documentation and standards to enhance skills and abilities within the team.
  • Monitoring, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor the performance of RPA solutions following deployment, perform regular maintenance, and iteratively enhance processes based on performance data, user feedback, and shifting business requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Serve as the key connector between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, understanding of business needs, and that RPA solutions are in line with business goals. Manage stakeholder interactions, including escalations, as needed.
