Summary
The Advanced Energy Delivery Technology Solutions team bears critical responsibility on behalf of Portland General Electric (PGE) to advance our clean energy future through technology advancements and integrations in building a smart grid. The mission of our team is to enable data driven decisions across the company and external stakeholders by ensuring secure, reliable, and cataloged data access from our data lake and delivering insights utilizing advanced AI/ML approaches to support achieving PGE’s goal and to build integrations bringing in various distributed energy resources to provide energy that is safe, clean, reliable, affordable, and secure.
We are looking for a Staff Business Systems Analyst to join our team and drive our mission together. This individual will collaborate with the business partners to collect requirements, design an end-to-end process flow, benefits metrics towards technology solutions. They will work closely with the Business SME’s, Information Architect, Data Architect, Data Engineer, Application developer to design and develop technology solutions to cater business values and end-user experience. Through their work, they will lay foundation of best practices and framework that other business analysts can follow.
The ideal candidate has the drive to understand the business domain, collect requirements/metrics, validate that the completed technology solutions meet the requirements, measure, and report outcomes. They must be comfortable at elicitation of requirements and benefits tracking amidst ambiguity and able to convey their idea clearly to stakeholders. They should possess good communication and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis (BUAN) Investigates operational needs, problems, and opportunities, contributing to the recommendation of improvements in automated and nonautomated components of new or changed processes and organization. Assists in defining acceptance tests for these recommendations.
Requirements Definition and Management (REQM) Defines scope and business priorities for small-scale changes and may assist in larger-scale scoping exercises. Elicits and discovers requirements from operational management and other stakeholders. Selects appropriate techniques for the elicitation of detailed requirements considering the nature of the required changes, established practice and the characteristics and culture of those providing the requirements. Specifies and documents business requirements as directed, ensuring traceability back to source. Analyzes them for adherence to business objectives and for consistency, challenging positively as appropriate. Works with stakeholders to prioritize requirements.
Customer Service Support (CSSUP) Responds to common requests for service by providing information to enable fulfilment. Promptly allocates unresolved calls as appropriate. Maintains records, informs users about the process, and advises relevant persons of actions taken.
Sales Support (SSUP) Communicates effectively with clients by telephone and in person. Assists in the provision of customer service, including technical advice and guidance on matters bearing on the successful use of products and services. Assists in devising solutions to client requirements and solves straightforward problems.
Qualifications
Education Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, management or other related field or equivalent experience.
Experience Typically two or more years in related field. Preferred experience in or knowledge of specific line of business and/or IT environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau for sharing business outcomes.
  • Experience with data/process flow tools like Microsoft visio.
  • Experience with SQL to query data.
  • Experience with agile and lean principles.
  • Basic understanding of data lake, data warehouses.
  • Experience with JIRA for requirements tracking and test scenarios.

PGE supports hybrid flexible work arrangements; and will have a combination of in-the-office and working offsite. This individual will need to be located within 75 miles from job location and will need to work in-the-office at least one day a week. However, these arrangements may change due to business needs or changes in responsibility.

Compensation Range:
$72,900.00 - $121,500.00
Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
