The role
As a Staff Engineer within the Engagement Alliance at HelloFresh, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing resilient, scalable, and flexible software solutions aimed at shaping the future of Customer Care services. Operating within the Customer Care domain, you will harness cutting-edge technologies, including generative AI, to equip our teams with the tools necessary for resolving customer queries and mitigating delivery and box errors. You are responsible for supporting the design, development, and maintenance of our software across multiple teams with various dependencies. As a Staff Engineer at HelloFresh, you will be challenged as a senior technical leader and have an opportunity to work with highly competent colleagues on challenging engineering problems and have a great impact on the organisation.

What you’ll do

  • As a Staff Engineer, you will be able to take responsibility for end-to-end software design and development processes, across the entire tech organization when needed.
  • Cooperate with other senior engineers to promote best practices in software architecture, design, development, delivery and deployment, and operations (DevOps Practices, Pair Programming, TDD, streaming, pub/sub, etc.)
  • Lead teams in ensuring we are adopting and using effectively state-of-the-art technologies.
  • Be actively involved in large, strategic tech initiatives, such as distributed data mesh, streaming data, microservice architectures, code refactoring best practices, API definition, CI/CD implementation and more.
  • Collaborate closely with our leadership in Tech, Product, Data and Business to improve our process, methodologies, communication flows, etc.
  • Be an ambassador for HelloTech brand and partners in hiring to our Talent Acquisition Team.

What you’ll bring

  • You have 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong engineering and architecture experience and extensive knowledge in APIs and Microservices.
  • Solid programming and architectural skills in one or more of our core languages: Kotlin/Java, Golang, php.
  • Professional knowledge and experience of commonly used technologies: Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, SQL as well as best practices.
  • An ability to act as an advocate for best tech practices, such as CI/CD, TDD, BDD, DDD, and Design Patterns.
  • Experience in improving the environment in which you are working, for technology, methodology, and team collaboration.
  • The ability to mentor other developers and host knowledge sharing sessions.
  • An agile mindset with the ability to advocate for cross-functional collaboration.
  • You have experience with DevOps practices and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
