Description:
Are you looking to start your band 5 career or would you like the chance of a new challenge in a collaborative and exciting specialty? If so, we have full time permanent positions with a mixture of long days and nights, Monday - Sunday within our cardiology wards at Hammersmith Hospital.
Heart Assessment Centre, known as Hammersmith’s front door is a 9-bedded area with 3 assessment trolleys. Patients are received directly from London Ambulance Services with different types of cardiac conditions ranging from acute myocardial infarction and arrhythmia to out of hospital cardiac arrests. Transfers from referring hospitals may also be admitted into this area. Turnover of patients is fast as once completing their assessment, they may be discharged home or moved to our acute cardiology wards for further treatment.
A7/CCU ward is a 25-bedded acute cardiology ward incorporating 5 coronary care unit (CCU) beds where level 2 care is provided. Patients are directly admitted to the unit from the Heart Assessment Centre, London Ambulance Services, tertiery referral hospitals and A&E. We also care for elective patients for TAVI, mitraclip, patients with pulmonary hypertension, and cardiology patients stepped down from ITU requiring further management.
Cardiology experience is desirable however we welcome newly qualified nurses with a passion for cardiology.

Provide support and, individualised care to patients, relatives/carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, in line with the local and national targets.
At all times ensure that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery.
To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area specified.
