A fantastic opportunity for Registered Nurses to work on the Children’s Unit at East Lancashire Hospitals.
Are you a keen and enthusiastic qualified Band 5 RN Child or Adult with children’s experience interested in joining our dynamic Children’s Unit at the Royal Blackburn Hospital?

We are a busy 51 bedded unit with an extra 4 beds delivering high dependency care. Co-located is our Children’s observation and assessment unit providing seamless care for children and their families. You will join us in providing high quality care for children and young people from all specialties up to the age of 19 dependent on complexity for children on the in-patient ward.
You will provide all elements of nursing care care for medical and surgical patients, both elective and emergency . We work closely with the Camhs ( ELCAS) and eating disorder services and have a vibrant adolescent area.
You will attend multi disciplinary , discharge planning and strategy meetings and will develop your managerial skills.
You will support junior nurses, student nurses and Trainee Nursing Associates.

We offer a full preceptorship package with on-going training and development, and you will be supported by our Practice Educator in developing competencies in the care of Children and Young people. You will also have the opportunity to rotate to other areas within our unit such as Admission and Assessment areas, and Day surgery.

Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care given in partnership with children and their families.
- Assist families to care for their child’s daily living requirements.
- Take an active role in the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team.
- Participate in all mandatory training and support junior staff and students.
