Description:
You will be a well-motivated individual with a passion for Acute Medicine. You will be pro-active and competent to ensure all of our patients are seen in a timely manner and receive the best treatment for them. You will be a positive and professional person that will be approachable and the first point of call for the patients through the door.
You will be required to demonstrate a professional manner with good communication skills in all aspects of work. You must be comfortable juggling the different demands of MSSU and must possess the courage to do what is right for our patients.
Key Duties
1. Operational responsibilities
1.1 Responsible for establishing and maintaining communication and relationship both
Internally and Externally
1.2 Establish and maintain effective communication and foster good working relationships with all multi-disciplinary teams, both internal and external.
1.3 Make use of electronic internal/external mail and internet systems as appropriate and necessary.
1.4 Bring to attention of the Ward Manager any factors which may adversely affect patient care or service provision.

Responsibilities:
2.1 Be Knowledgeable about specific care requirements of patients who may be admitted to the unit
2.2 Be Knowledgeable about current infection control procedures and policies and ensure all staff and visitors adhere to these at all times.
2.3 Be Knowledgeable about the risks of infection and take responsibility for minimising cross infection within the clinical environment.
2.4 Be knowledgeable about all aspects of Acute Medicine.
2.5 Planning and organisational skills
2.6 Participate in Directorate/Departmental meetings
2.7 Be Involved in practice development and patient experience issues
