Description:

We are a busy local neonatal unit supporting a maternity unit that has 5,000 deliveries per year. we have provision for 2 intensive care, 6 high dependency and 12 special care cots.
We have a family centered care approach and are currently working towards baby friendly accreditation. People with neonatal experience would be desirable but not essential. Opportunities to become qualified in specialty.
The post holder is responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing planned nursing care, and for the maintenance of associated records for patients in the given clinical area.
You will work as an effective team member, assisting in the management and the organisation of work as required.
The post holder displays effective communication skills and works as a role model for good practice, supporting and developing students and more junior colleagues as required.

The post-holder is responsible for undertaking and recording a
comprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluating
high standards of evidenced based nursing care to a diverse group of
patients.
Is expected to deliver care without direct supervision. Is accountable for
the care delivered and any omissions of care.
Is expected to teach and supervise more junior staff, students and the non
registered nursing workforce.
Is accountable for care or any omissions of care that he/she delegates to others
Is expected to act as role model, delivering care with empathy and
compassion as part of a multidisciplinary team
