Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative, forward thinking nurse to support our busy oncology outpatient clinic. You will provide expert knowledge and clinical judgment for our staff and patients.

You will be expected to co-ordinate the unit safely and effectively and be willing to have a “hands on” approach in providing high quality patient centred care, whilst being visible and approachable on the unit at all times.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about oncology nursing, with the vision and passion to help optimise high quality patient care. Being a good team player, you will work together with the unit manager, sister and the other nursing team leaders to help foster good communication and improve processes to enhance the patient pathway.
You will be expected to liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users related to the speciality.

We are the region’s provider of cancer, neurosciences, mobility and rehabilitation, renal, and plastics tertiary specialties. In the past two years we have been accredited as the major Trauma Centre, for Lancashire and South Cumbria, as well as the regional Vascular Centre. We are in the process transferring specialist cancer surgery to our Cancer Centre, and are expanding ENT Oncology, Urology, Colorectal and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to meet patients’ needs in accordance with agreed local and national standards and evidence based guidelines.
Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, through appropriate professional practice, delegation and supervision of duties carried out by junior staff.
Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Assist in setting, monitoring and maintaining standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care
