Description:
ount Carmel Guild Behavioral Health System, a CARF accredited division of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark, is a leading provider of mental health and addiction services in Northern New Jersey.
We are currently seeking a Per Diem Child Psychiatrist to work in our Union City Outpatient Department. (Per Diem Status working 19 hours or less a week.)
REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTIAL CARE PSYCHIATRIST:
- N.J. Medical Doctor’s License
- Current N.J. Controlled Dangerous Substance Registration
- Current USDEA Controlled Substance Registration
- Board certified or eligible in child psychiatry
- Medical Doctor’s Degree
Preferred Experience: Two to three years of experience in the field of psychiatry.
Responsibilities:
The staff psychiatrist is directly affiliated with the partial care program, provides medical input into the development of the program, and maintains a caseload of clients by providing psychiatric evaluation and medication management.
- Provide psychiatric evaluation, initial psychiatric assessment, and ongoing psychiatric review at least two times per year
- Meet with the clients regularly
- Participate in, review, approve, supervise and provide input into the treatment and service plans provided to each consumer
- Provide consultation to program staff on an ongoing basis and medical input into the development of the program
- Participate in trainings and weekly meetings and be available and provide in-service training to program staff
- Complete applicable paperwork to keep cases active, specifically, progress notes
- Call in prescriptions and information for dictation, return client phone calls, and follow up with referral sources
- Assure that all psychiatric and medical services that are provided by the program meet accepted standards of medical practice
- Assume professional responsibility for the treatment and services provided and assure that the treatment and services are medically appropriate
