*THIS IS A LIMITED APPOINTMENT POSITION FOR A DURATION OF ONE YEAR*

The Department of Radiology at UCSF has a position available for a Staff Research Associate in the laboratory of Dr. An Vu, a researcher in the development and application of high spatiotemporal resolution MRI technologies.
Our lab aims to develop advanced MRI technologies and methods for the analysis, quantification and processing of medical imaging data, especially neuroimaging data.
The Staff Research Associate will assist in the aggregation of MRI data collected for the lab to study the efficacy of various new MRI technologies. The candidate is expected to perform image-based analysis and give presentations to the group. Also, expected to participate in journal clubs and manuscript preparation. Excellent communication and analytic skills are essential.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The UCSF Department of Radiology Imaging IT team architects, implements, and manages the computer systems and networks needed to support more than 700,000 imaging studies annually. Our team manages the full stack from network to application and end user support. The team provide Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm support including evening and weekend call to support the Medical Center needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in a related science and one or more years of recent/directly related work experience, utilizing the techniques/methods required by the position; and/or equivalent experience/training
  • Working knowledge with imaging analysis packages
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with MRI image analysis
  • Advanced degree
  • Advanced computer programming skills in Linux, Bash, MATLAB and / or Python
