Staff Software Developer

Genesys Cloud processes millions of contact centre interactions daily. Recording is a key feature set that allows interactions to be securely recorded, stored, accessed, and managed. Quality Management (QM) leverages the recordings to provide insight into the quality of the interactions through manual and AI-assisted evaluations, allowing the overall contact centre experience to be improved through agent evaluation and coaching.
As a Staff Software Developer on the Recording and QM Team, you will be using your technical expertise to deliver new features and drive continuous improvement of existing services. You will work in a fast-paced environment that supports continuous change, innovation, and experimentation. You will work with both established and cutting-edge technologies like Java, JavaScript, React, Python, Kafka, DynamoDB, Redis, AWS Lambda, and various other AWS services to build on our microservices architecture. You should demonstrate mastery in one or more of these technologies, and a drive to learn and apply new technologies to current or future projects.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Develop and maintain cloud applications built on top of AWS infrastructure.
  • Design and implement high-quality new features with end-to-end responsibilities within the entire development process including requirements review, architecture and high-level design, task planning, effort estimation, implementation, code review, test plan review, and documentation.
  • Support production environment through handling support inquiries and addressing production issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to other employees across the organization within area of expertise.
  • Mentor junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Deep understanding of software development with minimum of 6 years and preferably 8+ years of related work experience in back-end, front-end or full-stack development.
  • Experience with the design and implementation of large complex software solutions.
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle from development through deployment and support.
  • Experience in driving software design and architecture with good understanding of scalability, availability, and reliability.
  • Experience in leading a small team to complete software projects.
  • Working experience with REST APIs.
  • Experience in microservices architecture and multi-tenancy are strong assets.
  • Experience with Unix operating environments (Linux, macOS).
