Staff Structural/Revit/BIM Designer
What to Expect
You will support the design and construction of a variety of new projects and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities across the USA.
The lead role is responsible for managing the quality of our BIM content and ensuring that our standards are implemented and enforced to drive efficiency and consistency within the firm. BIM Designers are much more than just traditional drafters. They are expected to work independently and own all aspects of the 3D model coordination and drawing production. Our BIM Designers understand buildings and are capable of coordinating primary building elements without the need for much direction from an engineer. They are detail-oriented, tech-focused, and have a desire to grow personally and professionally. BIM Designers are responsible for following our Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure quality work outputs during project design and in construction administration.

What You’ll Do

  • Structural modeling and design deliverables in Revit
  • Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules for construction documents.
  • Prepare and update structural general notes and typical detail library to facilitate the production of construction documents.
  • Create and maintain Revit 3D structural models of all US facilities for new/future construction and clash detection.
  • Convert A/E and General Contractor Revit models to AESC standard Revit models.
  • Coordinate structural modeling with multidiscipline project teams including Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Piping/Plumbing including assisting in utility routing and clash detection.
  • Set up and maintain BIM 360 projects.
  • Maintain BIM quality control standards and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Maintain “gold” standards for drawings – steel, concrete, and modular.
  • Execute, maintain, and improve the overall BIM quality control process.
  • Track, manage, and measure processes for integrating quality control feedback into standards/training.

What You’ll Bring

  • Diploma in Architectural, Civil, Structural Engineering or ITE drafting certificate or 15+ years of relevant C&S drafting for building or industrial projects or equivalent.
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM Content
  • Experience with multi-discipline clash detection, model review platforms
  • Experience developing fabrication (LOD 400) level drawing packages.
  • Highly organized with great time management
