About the role
Our team is growing, and we have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced transport leader to join us as we build out an exciting program of work.
As the State Transport Carrier Operations Leader - VIC/TAS, you will lead the state transport management of our 3PL partners across the program. You will play a key role in ensuring our partners deliver the best service to our stores.
You will be the key contact point in the region to handle escalations and resolve transport enquiries as well as work with our partners to deliver network optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position will be based out of our National Support Office in Burnley where we support hybrid working, some interstate travel to Tasmania will also be required for this role.

What’s involved:

  • Manage relationships with carriers to ensure best in class safety, service & cost are achieved in line with KPI targets across the region
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of services and tracking to deliver on time by analysing key performance indicators to identify areas for operational improvement
  • Ensure carrier safety and COR compliance, operational efficiency and collaborate with internal teams to achieve organisation and budget objectives
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives with carriers and within the business on a regular basis
  • Manage P&L including forecasting and review processes, implementing strategies to optimize transportation costs associated with Carrier services by conducting regular cost analysis

Who we’re looking for
You will bring strong operational transport skills and a passion for customer service. Your excellent communication skills will provide you with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders internal and external to influence and negotiate positive outcomes.

You’ll need:

  • Demonstrated experience within a transport operations function with carrier management
  • Excellent understanding of Chain of Responsibility, safety, transport regulations, legislation and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and development of key carrier relationships
  • Ability to work autonomously and able to get cut through on tasks
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Valid Driver’s licence as travel across the network is required
