Job Description

• Responsible for identifying, benchmarking, budgeting, support target setting, support tools management (eVOS, MCM, etc.) and tracking cost reduction activities and projects to meet technical cost reduction targets.
• Present the regional results overview and split these results by each subsystem.
• Generate ideas, study initial engineering feasibility and benchmark alignment to reduce material costs with no degradation in quality or customer experience.
• Interact with counterparts in all other regions with the aim of maximizing cross pollinations plan considering technical proposals.
• Benchmarking, Standardization & Idea Generation.
• Support Meta function Teams on Design to Cost: Upfront development.
• Support PC&CO to engage Suppliers and Stakeholders focus on value optimization.
• Support Meta function Teams on System and Components Benchmarking.
• Lead Benchmarking & Standardization activities across Meta functions: A2MAC reviews, Part / System reviews.
• Support Benchmarking Vehicle Hoist / Teardown reviews.
• Coordinate / Lead Idea Generation activities: Supplier / Engineering Submission, Benchmarking & Internal Workshops.
• Lead Initial Evaluation / Disposition of New Ideas: Determine Initial Engineering Feasibility, Perform competitive benchmarking analysis.
• Provide Meta function budget needs to PC&CO for Global Finance (COO) approval request.
• Manage, support and optimize all tools for Meta function VO activities for all Regions.
• Establish common methods, processes and tools.
• VO KPI’s management (Status vs. Target charts).
• Guarantee the conformity to Internal Control System rules.
• Support Systems/Components Benchmark activity for Ideas generation & Cost Engineering
• Ensure the VO changes system/components are designed to and meet performance through systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor in Engineering or Manufacturing from ABET accredited university and experience in design, release or processing role or other credentials in combination with relevant experience in developing EDD, variable and/or tooling costs for automotive components.
• Experience in following areas:
• Body Components, Interior Components, Chassis Components, Electrical Components, Propulsion Systems, Battery Components, Engine Components, Transmission Components, ePT, Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning (HVAC)&Engine Systems.
• Experience with Systems/component architecture and hardware.
• Preferred previous design and release experience.
• Experience in the full product life cycle.
• Experience in activity-based costing and/or quoting.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
• High level of proficiency in English Proficiency in NX and Teamcenter.
• Ability to analyze design and processes to identify savings opportunities.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of Shainin Red X or other reactive quality tools.
• Knowledge in Design for Six Sigma or other proactive quality tools.
• Experience with lean product development.
• High level of proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
