STERILE SCIENCES SERVICE (SSS) EDUCATOR

TE WHIWHINGA MAHI | THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a candidate who is creative, thinks outside the box, has the ability to foster and develop new relationships, and is able to respond to a dynamic environment where no one day is the same.
In this role, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of training and orientation programmes. Working within a dedicated team, your focus will be on achieving optimal patient outcomes by supporting staff embarking on their Science of Sterilization Technology career. As a Sterile Sciences Service Educator, at Te Toka Tumai, you will consistently demonstrate a strong knowledge and a deep understanding of Sterilising Standards and maintain a high level of proficiency in practice. You will be responsible for enhancing the quality of sterile processing services and ensuring staff competence across all areas including loans, endoscopy, decontamination, assembly and packing, sterilisation and dispatch.
This is a permanent full-time role, based at Auckland City Hospital.

NGA PŪKENGA MOTUHAKE | IMPORTANT SKILLS

We are seeking an experienced and registered Sterile Science Technician with a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated expertise in sterilisation processing. You will have either completed or be in the process of completing the New Zealand Diploma in Sterilising Technology (Level 5) and possess relevant tertiary education. Additionally, some experience in staff training is preferred, and you are eager to advance your career, focusing on education, training and development. Joining our team, which prioritizes the highest standards of service and promotes excellence and evidence-based practice, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our educational endeavours.
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively prioritise an ever-evolving workload and be able to shine within a well aligned education team.
