Description:

Duties/Pligte

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with donors;
  • Onboarding donors;
  • Acknowledging and recognising the role donors play in the sustainability of Stellenbosch University;
  • Thanking donors and ensuring effective communication about the impact of their contributions;
  • Managing donor recognition programmes in collaboration with internal teams, and overseeing the quality of reporting on the utilisation of funding;
  • Enabling the Major and Principal Gifts teams, as well as the Donor Development team to strengthen and deepen relationships with existing and potential donors by developing customised stewardship plans and utilising a range of metrics to enhance those activities that work in supporting fundraising activities and donor engagement;
  • Developing strategic communications in conjunction with the ADE team members to highlight the impact of donations;
  • Maintaining all contact information on a central database;
  • Understanding and gaining knowledge of activities and priorities, and advising on and supporting stewardship opportunities;
  • Organising and attending cultivation and stewardship events.
  • Ontwikkeling en instandhouding van verhoudings met skenkers;
  • Werwing van skenkers;
  • Erkenning en vermelding van die rol wat skenkers speel in die volhoubaarheid van die Universiteit Stellenbosch;
  • Bedanking van skenkers en versekering van effektiewe kommunikasie rakende die impak van hul bydraes;
  • Bestuur van skenker-erkenningsprogramme in samewerking met interne spanne, en toesighouding oor die gehalte van verslagdoening rakende die aanwending van befondsing;
  • Bemagtiging van die Groot- en Hoofskenkingspanne, sowel as die Skenkerontwikkelingspan, ten einde verhoudings met bestaande en potensiële skenkers te verstewig en te verdiep deur pasgemaakte voogdyskapplanne te ontwikkel en verskeie metings te gebruik om die aktiwiteite te versterk wat fondswerwingsaktiwiteite en skenkerbetrokkenheid ondersteun;
  • Ontwikkeling van strategiese kommunikasie in samewerking met die ASB-spanlede om die impak van skenkings uit te lig;
  • Instandhouding van alle kontakinligting op ’n sentrale databasis;
  • Verwerwing van insig en kennis oor aktiwiteite en prioriteite, en advisering en steun rakende voogdyskapsgeleenthede;
  • Reël en bywoning van voogdyskapsgeleenthede.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field that demonstrates relational skills development;
  • At least five years’ relevant experience in a comparable fundraising or donor-centred environment, or in a partner management role;
  • Excellent judgement and the ability to make sound decisions;
  • The ability to liaise effectively with senior University staff and eminent alumni of the University in a manner that enhances the reputation of SU and the DAR Division;
  • The ability to interact effectively and quickly gain credibility with a wide variety of individuals, groups, and organisations;
  • Demonstrated high-level influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills;
  • The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks accurately with minimal supervision;
  • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for own work and time management, and to operate effectively in a team environment where workloads vary according to deadlines;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills ¿ multilingualism would present a distinct advantage;
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Energy and a high level of initiative, creativity, personal warmth, and tenacity;
  • The ability to demonstrate an international outlook and sensitivity for cultural differences;
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office.
