Store Planning Manager – Permanent – Remote
Costa Coffee is building its Store Planning capabilities by recruiting an experienced Space and/or Retail Store Planner to drive the development of their stores in the UK&I market.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, specialised team focusing on improving our consumer experience, and really make your mark in Hospitality Retail. The Store Planning Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and governing the existing shop plans for renewals, new store openings (NSO), and business initiatives, identifying opportunities to increase space performance across our core market. This role comes with a high degree of autonomy.

A bit about the role…

Day to day, you’ll be working closely with a multi-functional team to deliver consumer journey led and visually appealing layouts. You’ll be influencing changes to standard format playbooks and standards to continuously improve the quality of what we build at Costa. It’s a customer-led and data-driven role to make optimum recommendations and decisions. Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Primary quality governance of all investment briefs and store plans that flow in and out of our external store planning agencies.
  • Target reduced capital spend through smart store planning, finding different ways to deliver similar end results for less.
  • Develop out our store planning principles across all types of store and format, to deliver for our target customers and all customer missions.
  • Codifying our playbook for store planning.
  • Being part of a successful team that delivers < 100 new stores and < 500 renewals per year.

  • Significant experience and capabilities working with AutoCAD in retail and/or hospitality environments
  • In depth knowledge of Retail and/or Hospitality store planning across multiple formats.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to inform improved decisions
  • Great communication skills with ability to manage up, across and down to all levels
  • Strong Negotiating and Partner Management skills
  • Experience working in a fast paced multi-faceted business
  • 3D Visualising experience is preferable
