Description:

  • Intermediate proficiency in ENGLISH and GERMAN in both written and verbal communication

    As we continue to grow our operation to serve our customer, we need to work as smart as we can, to keep all our team members safe, fulfilled, motivated and empowered. To help us achieve this, we are seeking a driven Waste Coordinator. With a strong Bias for Action, you would need to help drive procurement and IT topics as well as waste management and other environmental concerns as needed. Our Amazon Transportation Services are at the heart of Amazon’s rapidly growing business: they’re where our Associate teams sort packages and ship them out on a truck. In this crucial position, you are the contact partner between Operations, all on site business partners and Environmental Assurance Protection.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work in the operational field based on operational needs
  • Warehouse Management of all non-inventory and IT equipment. Count inventory, IT equipment, stock in procurement and update internal files accordingly with withdrawals. Definition of min and max stock for non-inventory under consideration of lead-time and order in case of need. Manage the order process for all non-inventory, procurement and IT equipment.
  • Event inventory and IT equipment management. Awareness of increase in requirements and preparation due to events (Peak, Prime, etc.)
  • Order management via coupa and P-Card. Central POC for Ops in regards to all on-inventory goods (excl. RME and Engagement). Provision of delivered goods for requestor and provide interface function to all customers.
  • Receiving and booking of non-inventory and IT equipment both physically and digitally.
  • Coordinate and lead the handout process for non-inventory and Ops IT.
  • Analyzing, deep diving & reviewing site expenses, supply costs, procurement sustainability and IT costs with internal stakeholders. Setting action to allocate and/or reduce expenses. Supporting change manager in projects of various scopes. Work closely with site leadership and the regional sustainability team to develop sustainability retrofits, initiatives and expansions.
  • Proactively looking for, identifying, communicating, aligning, implementing and reviewing saving opportunities and process improvements. Sharing best practices with other procurement coordinators from the European operations network
  • Characterization/determination of non-hazardous, regulated non-hazardous and hazardous waste (from both inventory and facilities operations) including proper storage and segregation, physically containerizing, labeling, waste logs, and preparing for shipment, in accordance with German waste regulatory requirements.
  • 5S, housekeeping, and organization of the waste storage area and all safety equipment (eye wash, spill kit, fire extinguisher, etc.), in accordance with German regulatory requirements, German Hazardous and non-Hazardous Waste Procedure and Amazon network policies.
  • Log and containerize all regulated non-hazardous and hazardous wastes using Waste and Donations Management tool in Austin. Maintaining and uploading all documents to Austin Waste and Donations Management
  • Raising requests for additional containers, labels, and other supplies from waste vendor to ensure proper stock levels are maintained at the site.
  • Engaging and communicating with Waste Vendor for hazardous wastes to trigger waste collection – sending accumulated logs, scheduling and coordinating waste pick-ups, and follow-up on paperwork for each consignment of waste.
  • Support RME with non-hazardous waste collections, vendor relations and maintain required documentation for non-hazardous wastes.
  • Ensure all routine waste inspections records of the area and containers are completed on time – raise issues with RME, WHS and Site Leadership Team.
  • Liaise with all site stakeholders such as RME, Change Management, Ops, WHS, etc. Goal is to act as a consultant for the site on the best possible disposal solutions in terms of costs and sustainability. Provide trainings in regards to Products Awaiting Determination, hazardous materials storage, disposal needs.
  • Researching trends, inventory loss and cost reduction efforts, where applicable.
  • Provide active expert knowledge on how to clean- up incidental spill/leak/release events.
  • Participate in all environmental related incident investigations. Work closely with the Site Environmental Technician to drive thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective actions
  • Advice on the hazardous materials storage on site. Provide expertise on the legal backgrounds with help in the practical execution.
  • Plan and Execute EAP and Sustainability initiatives happening on site and participate to the site Gemba.
