They are seeking a skilled and passionate storm Water Engineer to join our team and contribute to the management and enhancement of our storm water infrastructure.
Responsibilities: As a Storm water Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient storm water management across our municipality.
Responsibilities:
- A high level of understanding and demonstrated experience in established stormwater engineering practices and principles, policies and practices and relevant Standards and Guidelines
- Provide appropriate specialist professional and expert recommendations and advice from an engineering perspective having regard to Council policies and engineering constraints
- Help a team achieve its goals by sharing information, involving team members in decisions, and demonstrating commitment to the team whilst representing the Council professionally and within the Council’s code of conduct
- Communicate clear information and instructions to other team members
- Identify opportunities and initiate action to improve systems and processes
- Identify problems or opportunities, consider multiple approaches, and commit to the best solution when developing new work processes
Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent engineering degree is recognised by the Institute of Engineers, Australia.
- Experience in undertaking hydraulics and hydrology, conventional drainage design, water sensitive urban design and flood mapping/modelling calculations.
- Experience investigating drainage flooding issues, preparation of concept plans and development of stormwater capital works programs.
- Understanding of governance and legal frameworks in the stormwater sector
- Understanding of best practice stormwater management (BPEM)
- Understanding of integrated stormwater management (IWM) principles
- Experience in common stormwater management related software is desired but not essential (e.g. DRAINS, MUSIC, RORB, etc.)
