Purpose of Role:
This role will report directly to the Ireland Country Head/CEO and plays a critical role in the daily management of all aspects of the Office of the CEO. The COS will be a strategic partner and advisor to the CEO.
The COS will act as the central point of coordination across the Ireland Leadership team and will be the conduit of key business and company information flow. The COS role will include strategic, operational, project and administrative responsibilities across for the CEO, and acts as a key influencer in enabling the CEO’s ability to execute on their priorities.

The role is responsible for working with the Ireland Country Head to drive local strategy and growth plans across all products; build local brand and establish strong relationships with local regulators; improving employee engagement and building a culture of ‘One State Street’.
At a high level, this includes:

CEO Agenda:

  • Align the strategic plan for Ireland with the Ireland Country head/CEO objectives and priorities and monitor the actionable items.
  • Coordinate projects/initiatives and commitments directly involving the CEO’s key priorities.
  • Elevate issues/challenges that could potentially impact the execution of business strategy and/or key initiatives.
  • Attend executive meetings to ensure the highest level of connectivity and contribute to the tactical priorities of the business. Provide follow up as needed ensuring all Ireland Country Head actions are completed.
  • Facilitate shared understanding of Ireland strategy & priorities across key stakeholders.
  • Drive development and production of Ireland Country and CEO business management scorecards.
  • Act as focal point for Ireland Facilities management and workplace of the future oversight.
  • Support the co-ordination and planning of external events.

Governance & Regulatory:

  • Serve as key member of the CEO’s leadership team.
  • Support the CEO Leadership team meetings, the quarterly strategy execution review process, and oversight of the annual strategy formulation process.
  • Own the execution and outcomes of key leadership meetings by managing agendas, developing decks, delivering pre-reads, and ensuring clear action items post-meeting.
  • Support the evidence and governance of the execution and discharge of the CEO’s responsibilities, e.g., Recording of delegation of responsibilities.
  • Act as representative / proxy for the CEO at necessary meetings/committees.

Engagement & Communication:

  • Develop and manage ongoing communications and follow-ups with key stakeholders, internal partners, and employees.
  • External branding – Use social media to develop brand and amplify State Street actions in Ireland.
  • Create, manage and provide appropriate preparation material for all CEO internal & external speaking engagements.
  • Partner with the Ireland Leadership Team to identify and drive an employee engagement agenda.
  • Employee Brand Management - drive employee engagement via communications, strategy (i.e., Vision/Purpose), Recognition, Empowerment, Feedback, Wellbeing, ‘Culture Activation’, etc. Use
  • Partner closely with the CEO’s Executive Assistant – ensuring requested meetings are booked, time management is effective.

Managerial

  • Demonstrate the ‘Risk Excellence’ culture by establishing the tone at the top, through personal accountability and ownership, education and awareness and reinforcing mechanisms.
  • Establish and nurture a culture of individual ownership of tasks to embed a clear individual sense of accountability into staff members’ behaviour in performing their roles.
  • Ensure that the highest level of the Code of Conduct is displayed in your own and staff behaviour.
  • Support the process to establish and monitor systems of control, delegated authority and escalation procedures so that the business complies with internal policies and external regulations can be managed effectively.
  • Support the governance of monitoring an effective delegation framework to ensure that tasks are performed by staff members with appropriate capacity and authority level (based on knowledge, skills and competence).
