Lockheed Martin is seeking a Strategic Operations Research Analyst to join a dynamic, high-performing team. The selected candidate will use systematic, science-based techniques, analytical methods, simulation, and critical thinking to inform and improve decision-making processes. This position will require frequent collaboration with team members and engineers in other disciplines. As part of the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Operations Analysis team, this candidate will participate in analysis to support requirements definitions, concept of operations (CONOPS) evaluation, and operational effectiveness studies to help shape and influence future capabilities of the warfighter. These impactful studies quantify the effects of payloads, weapons and tactics on survivability and mission effectiveness.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Participating in analysis and study plans based on critical questions/problem statements
  • Applying engineering-based techniques, problem-solving methods, and critical thinking
  • Researching and learning military systems, military operations, and military tactics
  • Simulation, Modeling and Analysis (MS&A) of military systems and scenarios in digital environments
  • Analyzing simulation results using data analytics to help draw meaningful conclusions
  • Participating in trade studies and performing statistical analysis
  • Participating in research efforts and learning analytical techniques with research methodologies.
  • Applying decision analysis methods to evaluate current and future programs

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Eligible for a DoD secret clearance
  • Scripting and data processing experience (MATLAB, Python, or similar)
  • Problem solving skills with an eagerness to learn
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited college/university

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Active DoD secret clearance
  • Operations Research (OR) or experience in computer-based analytical tools
  • Modeling and simulation experience
  • Software development experience (C++, Git, Gitlab)
  • Knowledge of radar, electronic warfare, infrared, or communication systems
  • Knowledge of data analytics, data science, and data visualization
  • Advanced degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited college/university

EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

4 yr and up College
