About the position
You have a background in urban planning, with a keen interest in strategic policy development which will contribute to the development and liveability of the municipality.
This role provides an opportunity to work in a small, supportive team environment as you review and formulate planning policies, assist in the preparation of submissions on a range of strategic policy projects and provide strategic advice and support on policy, planning and development matters.
Skills and Experience
Review and formulate planning policies which achieve the objectives of the Council Plan and develop strategies for desired development outcomes in Monash.
Research and collate data to present recommendations to Council on policy directions.
Undertake the preparation of local Planning Scheme Amendments and respond to State Planning Schemes Amendments.
Consult with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external, to achieve agreed outcomes around specific planning issues.
Requirements
A Tertiary Qualification in town/urban planning, Environment, Geography, Law or an allied field
Experience in a planning related discipline
Satisfactory National Police Check
