Description:
Daedalean is a Zürich-based startup founded in 2016 by experienced engineers who want to completely revolutionize air travel within the next decade. The company has 100+ people and we combine computer vision, deep learning, and robotics to develop full “level-5” autonomy for flying vehicles, both existing aircraft and the electric VTOLs that you may have seen in the media.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- You are smart and get stuff done.
- Have a degree in purchasing, supply chain management, business administration, Engineering or another related field.
- At least 10 years professional experience in aerospace procurement in a global environment.
- Experience in maintaining, developing, and implementing procurement processes and strategies as well as contract management.
- A proven track record in leadership or motivated to gain their first leadership experience
- Experience in quality management, ideally in EN 9100 or Part 21G/J is highly desired.
- Your confident and communicative nature, coupled with a high level of service awareness, makes it easy for you to deal with customers and suppliers.
- You will be able to work independently and in a structured manner, contributing to a solution-oriented and successful team.
- Full working proficiency in English, German and further languages are an advantage

Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE:
You will actively contribute to the formulation, execution and evolution of procurement strategies related to locating, evaluating, contracting and maintaining the best sources of supply for the materials and services required by the Development teams while considering all aspects such as quality, value, performance, cost and the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements, incl. licensing and logistics services. You will take the ownership, responsibility and accountability for supplier and vendor selection and development.
YOUR TASKS:
- Establish and implement procurement strategy of aircraft system components, services and contract negotiations
- Negotiate, create and manage terms and conditions for contracts with chosen suppliers.
- Driving an active and successful supplier management process
- Conducting price negotiations, cost monitoring and cost reductions
- Maintaining continuous and timely procurement related data, documenting and archiving procurement data according to internal processes
- Handling Supplier Change Requests (SCR), managing obsolescence and Problem Reports (PR) processes
- Collaborating with internal departments as well as suppliers strategically
- Ensure setting up of tools and processes to achieve the above
- Establish, implement and maintain inventory management system
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to monitor and manage supplier performance against agreed-upon metrics.
