Description:
DESCRIPTION
The Strategic Research Analyst will conduct market research, organize documentation, and develop reports for strategic initiatives and priorities within GS1 Canada. In addition, the Research Analyst will work closely with the Strategy and Research team to provide the research insight for various projects and organizational initiatives. Responsible for creating a framework for the Research Centre of Excellence (or RCoE), a knowledge repository providing leadership, best practices, research, support or training for sector strategies and industry-identified priorities. The purpose of the RCoE is to enable GS1 Canada employees to learn, conduct research, create insights, use available tools and sources that will help them create intelligent, data-driven content for better decision-making in the future. In addition, RCoE will thrive on producing knowledge like research papers and highlighting future trends.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE
- Post-secondary education in economics, commerce, business, planning, Research, Analytics or equivalent
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a research-related role.
- Strong writing skills acquired through academic or professional experience and demonstrated in a writing sample.
· Ability to distill information into a clear, concise, and compelling story that enables stakeholders to make more informed decisions ·
- Presentation and facilitation experience demonstrated through prior client-facing workshops, training sessions, and consulting engagements.
- Experience gaining and maintaining trusted advisor status with management. Strong working relationships with C-suite are considered beneficial.
- Working experience with Data visuals tools and productivity notes.
- Exposure or interest in corporate strategy or consulting
- Demonstrated alignment to the GS1 Canada values
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use strategic and analytical thinking, data analysis, data visualization to support the development of business strategies, including scoping and structuring, formulating hypotheses, conducting research, performing analysis, and developing actionable recommendations.
- Strong skills with setting up a research library/repository and organizing documentation.
- Identify trends and propose research topics related to our sectors, solutions & strategies.
- Synthesize and translate data into high-quality written reports, presentations, visuals, and strategic recommendations.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of industry sectors, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape, and identify key trends impacting subscribers.
- Complete primary & secondary research. Develop methodology on data gathering processes
- Accurately summarize and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, insights, themes, and recommendations.
- Create an intake process for the RCoE to assist the organization better with any research needs.
- Analyzed, interpreted, and converted statistics into charts and graph reports
- Co-author quarterly research
- Design and build of research content for publication and manage the launching and ongoing maintenance of research studies.
- Co-author monthly newsletter & quarterly research paper with internal and external stakeholders.
- A vital component of this work will include report writing. Providing a writing sample with your application will be considered an asset.
