JOB DESCRIPTION

This role presents an exciting opportunity to drive the continued enhancements of strategic risk oversight across the enterprise, working in the newly formed Reputation & Strategic Risk Management function within Risk Management & Compliance. The role supports the Strategic Risk Management team through identification and assessment of enterprise risks that may adversely impact the Company’s strategic goals and objectives. This position will assist in multiple governance and oversight routines and will collaborate with other second line of defense functions.
The role will require knowledge of risks and controls, strong ability to work across business areas to coordinate efforts, and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the coordination of activities related to the execution of the Strategic Planning process.
  • Assess impact to strategic risk for new product and business change requests.
  • Facilitate review of risk identification items through a variety of processes managed by the second line of defense.
  • Ability to influence business line and risk partners in achievement of prudent risk management outcomes in response to business changes that may present incremental strategic risk
  • Address escalated business change management review items through engagement with business line and risk stakeholders to ensure timely completion of required tasks
  • Provide actionable information to help prioritize risk-mitigation actions related to strategic risk across the enterprise.
  • Aid in the active identification, response and/or escalation of risks as appropriate.
  • Manage inventory of procedures and guidelines owned by Strategic Risk.
  • Provide actionable information to help prioritize risk-mitigation actions.
  • Assist in development of strategic risk dashboards and monitoring reports.
  • Provide input into the development, management and maintenance of the broader strategic risk framework, including the Risk Appetite Statement, relevant policies and framework documents, and risk reporting.
  • Monitor business line and enablement function issue remediation activities to ensure outstanding strategic risks are sufficiently resolved.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically more than six years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Power BI experience or related dashboard and data visualization skills preferred
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a variety of tasks and meet critical deadlines
  • Proven adaptability to changing priorities
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management approaches and objectives (e.g. risk management framework, risk appetite, risk/material risk identification, risk measurement, policy development, data governance, committee governance).
  • Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business
  • Considerable understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
  • Strong analytical, process facilitation and project management skills
  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
  • Applicable professional certifications

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there’s an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
