Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE

The role of the strategic sourcing manager is vital in developing and implementing supply chain strategies to provide ME electronic products a strategic market advantage. In close collaboration with the Munich Electrification management team, you are responsible to achieve the most competitive product cost while balancing the continuity in the supply. Your main contribution is to translate product and technology requirements into a preferred supplier portfolio and strategic supplier partnerships for the cluster of automotive electronic components.
Your goal is to enable the operations team to purchase components in time at best cost.
Through your engaging nature, you are developing and maintaining long lasting and trustful partnerships with ME suppliers. You are able to strengthen our supply chain by implementing multiple sources, you make in time decisions by foreseeing tightening market environments and by understanding component roadmaps to overcome obsolescence. Since we are a small team, you are working hands-on with the actual product. Ideally you bring in electronic production technology competencies and you are able to make best total cost decisions as a result of production technology and component cost. The strategic sourcing manager interacts, actively communicates and seamlessly interfaces between our internal departments Hardware, Operations and Production.

  • Negotiate component cost and implement strategies against the continuous trend of rising cost
  • Establish, negotiate, maintain and nurture partnerships with our key component suppliers and production partners
  • Define electronic component target cost by validated cost models
  • Monitor and drive contribution margins of our different products
  • Manufacturing cost analysis for contract manufacturing & BOM
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives
