JOB DESCRIPTION:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Sourcing Manager to join the Mars Petcare Commercial team based in Melbourne, Wodonga, or Bathurst to help deliver sustainable growth across the portfolio of Petcare’s brands in Australia.
The Senior Sourcing Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of long-term, beneficial strategies for the sourcing of a specified category for the Petcare Business in Asia Pacific. The role is responsible for all supplier negotiations and evaluations of existing suppliers and regularly monitors markets in terms of availability and cost development, as well as forecasts the cost implications to the business and communicates to relevant stakeholders.
The role will be actively involved in the identification and execution of sustainability, growth, and cost savings activities to meet our local and global targets. It is also responsible for the co-creation of a Global Category strategy and accountable and responsible for creating and implementing the regional category plans and all its associated financial, service & quality delivery. This role is the category lead in the region, sitting as a key member of the Global Category Leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • To create value for Pet Parents this role will bring external insights and innovation in to Mars
  • Develop and implement the Mars Strategic Sourcing Methodology for the critical commodities within the animal protiens category
  • Understand alternate materials to minimise cost and manage risk
  • Drive Supplier management strategies and negotiations for the above-mentioned portfolios. Manage raw materials quality with suppliers with SQA and in line with the global MQM process.
  • Forecast and report market development to manage business risk and exposure for cost and availability
