The Strategic Sourcing Manager is in charge of negotiating and purchasing goods and services for an organization. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will take what the company has budgeted for purchases, perform research on the market, and evaluate other potential Suppliers in order to ensure the best possible Quality, Delivery and Cost of products to facilitate growth of Natus Sensorys revenue.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager also searches for ways to cut costs and increase efficiency within the organization.
A strategic sourcing manager provides essential information to other company departments such as accounting, engineering, and customer service.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager “owns” the relationship with our Suppliers to strategize the purchasing of goods and negotiate contracts.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Experience working with suppliers for strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Strong business analysis acumen.
  • Ability to negotiate complex commercial agreements.
  • Knowledge of sourcing best practices.
  • Knowledge of the ISM, FCPA, and US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
  • Knowledge of federal and state

Responsibilities:

STRATEGIC SOURCING MANAGER DUTIES

  • Investigate potential sources of supply, develop purchasing strategies, and oversee the purchasing team.
  • Research and locate potential suppliers and sources.
  • Market new suppliers to current suppliers.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery methods with suppliers and vendors.
  • Evaluate and monitor suppliers’ performance, modify purchasing policies to address weaknesses.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, regularly evaluate their financial performance and creditworthiness, and track their performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Prevent, identify, and control problems.
  • Evaluate, research, and resolve supplier problems.
  • Understand the impact of procurement decisions on the organization’s image

STRATEGIC SOURCING MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze current supplier performance and purchase history, and solicit bids from new and prospective vendors.
  • Develop and manage strategic plan for sourcing needs, including sourcing strategy, work breakdown structure, and proposal requirements.
  • Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures, including segregation of duties, job order contracting, risk assessment, and supplier selection.
  • Implement and adhere to supplier performance management and supplier quality systems.
  • Maintain and administer supplier contracts and agreements.
  • Manage supplier grievances and quality assurance.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and develop corrective action plans to improve processes.
  • Document current supplier program status.
  • Maintain supplier scorecards and performance reports.
  • Provide strategic sourcing support to organization leadership.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, finance, legal, human resources, and other groups
