Responsibilities:
The Strategy Analyst will provide research, analytic, and documentation support for the leadership team. This is a fast-paced and wide-ranging role collaborating with origination, development, and delivery teams to provide inputs and materials to ensure we make smart investments and closely monitor policy and regulatory changes as our projects mature.
- Lead the review of Intergrated Resource Plans (IRP) and policy and process changes to RTO/ISOs to synthesize and share the impact on the business strategy and/or current projects
- Interpret implications of various public policy initiatives or market data such as tariffs, tax credits, portfolio standards, and transmission expansion
- Succinctly communicate the implications of the analysis both orally and in writing.
- Support the M&A process by preparing presentation materials and maintaining the acquisition tracker
- Understand the acquisition market and complete competitor analysis
- Prepare materials for investment committee review
- Priorities and responsibilities will change as the business matures; this position is not limited to the responsibilities outlined above.
- ABOUT YOUYou bring a breadth of knowledge in renewable energy including an understanding of US policy, and the development lifecycle. You are an independent learner and comfortable working in an unstructured environment. New grads with targeted degree programs in renewable energy or relevant internships are encouraged to apply.
- 1+ years of experience in a research or analytic role with an energy company or consulting firm focused on energy.
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, economics, environmental policy, or related field
- Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., MBA, Engineering, MPP) a plus
- Knowledge of electric market structure and economics.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy policy
- Superior Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to analyze large data sets
- Oral and written communication skills
- Experience in renewable energy a plus
