KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Model Development and Maintenance:
  • Build, maintain, and update comprehensive financial models to support corporate planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial models by regularly validating and updating assumptions and inputs.
  • Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate the impact of different business strategies and market conditions.

Assumption Testing and Validation:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate commercial assumptions and inputs used in the financial models.
  • Perform rigorous testing of key assumptions, including revenue growth, cost structure, capital expenditures, and working capital requirements.
  • Analyse historical financial data and market trends to support assumption validation and model accuracy.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare detailed financial analysis and reports to support management decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Present financial model outputs and key findings to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Provide insights into financial performance, risks, and opportunities based on model outputs.

Business Case Development

  • Work with PEXA senior management, and internal and external stakeholders on PEXA’s business planning process and business case development.
  • Consultatively working with all areas of the business to proactively solve strategic business problems. This includes gathering data, documenting trouble areas and using proven, structured methodologies to analyse the data gathered and provide solutions to key business problems.

Research and analysis

  • Data gathering (including Big Data), complex analysis, strategic thinking and documentation to test out hypothesis-driven opportunity identification, including leading the team towards best practices in the following:
  • Perform industry research using publicly available data sources
  • Generate and deliver reports from data analysis

M&A

  • Participate in M&A activities, including financial analysis, due diligence and valuation
  • Identification and assessment of new business growth opportunities, which may include organic growth through new product developments and markets, and new businesses through mergers and acquisitions (working closely with the Corporate Development team)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant tertiary degree in commerce, finance, accounting, or related field. CA/CPA or CFA designation is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting and/or strategy
  • Financial modelling capability essential
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools, such as Microsoft PowerBI and Tableau desireable
  • Advanced MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook)

This position involves building and maintaining financial models, testing commercial assumptions, conducting sensitivity, scenario & competitive analyses, market research and providing insights that support strategic decision-making.
