About our Team
We are looking for an experienced strategy professional to provide strategic leadership for Elsevier’s Researchers & Librarians segment. You will partner with senior leaders to address broad range of strategic questions critical to business success. We provide content, data and analytics which help research and health professionals make decisions and improve outcomes.
About the Role
Leading strategy development for the segment, working closely with the MD, Researchers & Librarians and with senior stakeholders across Elsevier. The role will report directly to Elsevier’s EVP strategy and will be based in London (Amsterdam can also be considered).
Responsibilities
Partnering with the management team to shape strategic agenda, define key strategic issues to be addressed, and drive problem-solving
Developing understanding of market fundamentals including customer needs, market sizing, competitor positioning, regional differentiation and business models
Driving strategic projects such as entry into adjacent segments/markets, commercial strategy and portfolio prioritisation
Helping translate strategies to execution plans and business cases

Requirements

  • Have a minimum 5 years strategy experience, including 2+ years with a top-tier strategy consulting firm
  • Experience in information solutions or publishing is preferred
  • Have outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have the ability to manage strategy projects independently, from work plan to recommendations
  • Be a self-starter with ability to balance several initiatives simultaneously
  • Demonstrate great leadership skills and team orientation
