Job description
We have a current opportunity for a Structural Engineer on a contract basis outside of IR35. The position will be based in Surrey.
This person will have responsibility for planning their workload, coordinating the technical skills required to ensure effective delivery of high-quality engineering to meet commercial and technical needs. The subsea structure design and analysis scope will include conceptual evolution of design in research and development, tenders, FEED and EPCI phases of a project. Compliance with project plans, relevant engineering standards and contractual obligations is required. The Principal Structural Engineer will work as part of a team but may have responsibility for discrete work packages.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist skills, integrity, and knowledge in key areas of subsea structural design engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice.
  • Provide in-place, transportation, lifting, deployment, and retrieval analyses for the subsea structures for projects.
  • Provide installation aid and sea-fastening design for the offshore campaigns.
  • Responsible for deliverables which may include:
  • Originator and Checker of design reports including detailed analysis and calculations, in accordance with acknowledged industry codes, standards, design guidelines, client specifications and scopes of work.
  • Effectively closing internal and external review comments to get the design approved for construction.
  • Engineering support to Drawing Office and issuance of fabrication drawings at AFC.
  • Data Sheets, Tender documents, FEED study reports and various third-party submissions.
  • Weight Reports and MTO.
